Pediatric Chinese Medicine primarily uses ¨Shonishin¨a specialized form of treatment for infants and children. Shoni Shin was developed in Japan in the mid-1700s in the Osaka region and its still popular today.
Shoni Shin involves light scraping of the skin along the meridians using a smooth edge tool. Treatments can also include massage, herbal and nutritional recommendations and very light acupuncture. Children are more sensitive and respond quicker with lighter stimulation than adults.
